Saturdays on Konza
Join us for Public Guided Hikes on the Konza Prairie Nature Trail. They will be offered every Saturday at 9:00 am - meeting at the Konza Prairie Nature Trail kiosk. Trained naturalists will take you on the 2.6 mile hike and provide information on the biology, geology, and history of the tallgrass prairie and Konza Prairie. Reservations are not needed. No pets, bikes, or strollers please - there is a $2 trail maintenance fee. Call 587-0381 if you have any questions."
Driving directions from Manhattan: Take Hwy 177 south out of Manhattan, going over the Kansas River. Immediately past the river turn right (west) onto McDowell Creek Road (Riley County 901S), proceed 6.2 miles west. Turn left (south) onto the gravel Konza Prairie Drive and go approximately .5 mile until you see the brown Nature Trail kiosk building.

Guided tours from an observation blind are available, Thursday through Sunday.

Friends of Konza Prairie annual Wildflower Walk
Join naturalists as they take you on a walk of our breathtaking Butterfly Hill hike (approximately 1 1.5 hours), while they help you identify the wildflowers blooming.
